The healthy forests and abundant wildlife we enjoy in Alabama today are a direct result of the stewardship exercised by more than 250,000 private forest owners. The Alabama Forestry Foundation works closely with the Alabama Forestry Association to protect the property rights of private forest owners and to ensure they retain the ability to manage their forests according to their own individual objectives.
Our strategy:
The Alabama Forestry Foundation works with state and national partners on issues that impact forestland ownership and management by conducting the following activities:
Conduct research and develop forest policy that promotes healthy forest and robust markets.
Providing forest policy education for legal professionals and elected leaders.
Monitor judicial and regulatory activity to identify opportunities that strengthen private property rights.
Take legal action when needed to defend private property rights.
