The healthy forests and abundant wildlife we enjoy in Alabama today result from stewardship exercised by more than 250,000 private forest owners. Alabama Forestry Foundation and Alabama Forestry Association work to protect the property rights of forest owners to ensure they retain the ability to manage their forests according to objectives that matter most to them.
strategy:
The Alabama Forestry Foundation works with state and national partners on issues that impact forestland ownership and management by:
Conducting research and develop forest policy that promotes healthy forest and robust markets.
Providing forest policy education for legal professionals and elected leaders.
Monitoring judicial and regulatory activity to identify opportunities that strengthen private property rights.
Taking legal action when needed to defend private property rights.
“And it is no less true, that personal security and private property rest entirely upon the wisdom, the stability, and the integrity of the courts of justice.”
