Read Across America Week

March 2-6, 2026

Forestry education is crucial to every classroom and community.

Read Across America Week provides a phenomenal opportunity for the forestry community to get involved in their local communities and educate the next generation about forestry and natural resource conservation while promoting childhood literacy.

On this page, find resources and activity guides for K-3rd grade classrooms to create an interactive learning experience.

Background: To celebrate Read Across America week, schools welcome guests from the community to read to students. Alabama Forestry Foundation, Alabama Forestry Association and ForestryWorks® encourage the use of the below tools in local schools. Contact Jaquie Parker, jparker@alaforestry.org or Jordan Littrell, jlittrell@alaforestry.org, for more information on submitting photos and an overview of the school visit and reading.
