FAQs
WHAT IS TREE FARM?
We work to give people the tools they need to be effective stewards of America's forests. Privately owned woodlands are vital to our country's clean water and air, wildlife habitat, recreational activities, and producing the jobs, wood, and paper products we all need.
WHAT DOES TREE FARM DO IN ALABAMA?
The mission of the Alabama Tree Farm Program is to promote growing renewable forest resources, and protection of environmental benefits on private family forest lands. Alabama Tree Farm also exists to provide a method of forest certification to these private forest lands, and to increase public awareness and understanding of all the benefits of productive sustainable forestry to private forest landowners.
The American Tree Farm Certification system is internationally recognized, and the certified ATFS sign tells your community, and the world, that you stand among the best woodland stewards in America. We stand there with you and are part of your team.
