Since 1947

Responsible Stewardship.
Lasting Legacy.

For more than 75 years, the Alabama Tree Farm Program has recognized family forest owners who are committed to responsible forest stewardship. Administered by the Alabama Forestry Foundation in partnership with the American Tree Farm System®, the program helps landowners sustainably manage their forests while protecting the natural resources that make Alabama’s working forests so valuable.

Whether your goals include improving wildlife habitat, protecting water quality, producing sustainable timber, or preserving your family’s legacy, Tree Farm provides the guidance, resources, and recognition to help you achieve them.

Forests Across Alabama

What is Tree Farm?

Healthy forests don’t happen by accident. They are the result of thoughtful stewardship.

The American Tree Farm System® (ATFS) is the nation’s oldest and largest sustainable woodland certification program, recognizing private forest landowners who are committed to managing their forests responsibly. Certified Tree Farmers care for their land using practices that support healthy forests, clean water, thriving wildlife, recreational opportunities, and renewable wood products.

Throughout the state, Alabama Forestry Foundation administers the Tree Farm Program, providing landowners with professional guidance, educational resources, and certification support that encourages long-term stewardship and sustainable forest management.

Join Alabama’s Tree Farm Community

Tree Farm certification is more than a designation; it’s a commitment to protecting Alabama’s forests for future generations.

Tree Farm certification recognizes landowners who are committed to sustainable forest management and responsible stewardship.
